Unlikely Mercies

I have shifted base along with my roommate, Chetan Patil to the distant suburbs, from our bachelor pad located at the heart of Mumbai. We lived in the previous flat for about 5 years. It was quite painful, somewhat nostalgic to vacate the place for a larger, spacious one.

These satellite townships around Mumbai city, better known as Navi Mumbai or New Mumbai, have been developed excellently as per international standards by CIDCO Authorities.

Finally, my new flat boasts of ample room, ample natural light, ample breeze .........and water cuts, daily electric load-shedding and zero privacy. Numerous windows of opposite buildings are strategically oriented to peep into ours, thankfully none of them at the distance of a handshake. So I am luckier than around half the population of our densely populated Mumbai city.

We end up thanking God for the unlikeliest of mercies sometimes.
