See the backdrop, Dears........

This is a picture we clicked at Jawahar Kala Kendra at Jaipur in India.

A vast campus of buildings, open ground and amphitheatre..... all in red natural stone. Jawahar Kala Kendra is a re-union center for all forms of art. You would find residency rooms rented out to artists for as cheap as INR 50 per day. Meals are cooked in-house and the complex boasts of natural, peaceful sorroundings..... just the environment one would need to rejuvenate the soul while creating an artwork.
The interiors of the building display ethnic art, traditionally cherished for generations by Rajasthani families and local patrons of the art.
Seen with me in the picture above is my colleague and co-sculptor, Pradeep who had accompanied me to the Jaipur trip, in our search for the perfect stone. The third colleague was rightfully behind his digicam Nikon FM-10 that clicked such awesome pictures. Forming a backdrop to our flashbulb smiles is a room-partition made beautiful by 'Meenakaari' work in miniature art patterns. Pictures of other traditional art will follow soon.
